Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS)

Welcome to 911±¬ÁϳԹϺÚÁÏ’s EOPS/CARE Program!
Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is a state funded program designed to provide support services to low income and academically disadvantaged students to be successful in college.EOPS provides eligible students with support services including program orientation, early registration,  academic counseling, career guidance, academic progress monitoring, tutoring, peer advocacy, book grants, transfer assistance, and special cultural awareness activities.

EOPS Services

EOPS offers:

  • EOPS Orientation
  • Priority Registration
  • Academic, Personal, and Career Counseling
  • Book Vouchers based on students eligibility and state funding
  • Book Loan program
  • Transfer assistance
  • Fee waivers for admission applications to UC and CSU campuses
  • Peer Tutoring
  • Homework lab
  • Workshops, campus tours, and special events
  • Referrals to college- and community-based services and programs

Cooperative Agencies & Resources for Education (CARE)

The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program is a supplemental educational support program for EOPS students, who are single, head-of-household parents, with at least one child under the age of 18 years. CARE provides assistance with books and supplies, child care and transportation costs, personal development workshops, and all EOPS services.

To qualify for CARE services students must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Be eligible for the EOPS program
  2. Single head of household and at least 18 years of age
  3. Have at least one child under the age of 18
  4. Parent and or child is receiving TANF, Cash Aid, or CalWORKs Benefits
